If you're planning to propose in Korea, congratulations.
Now comes the next challenge: finding the right Seoul proposal photographer to capture one of the most important moments of your life.
Over the years, I've photographed surprise proposals all across Seoul, from quiet mornings at Naksan Park to sunset sessions along the Han River and destination proposals on Nami Island. As the head photographer at Modu Studios, I've helped dozens of couples plan proposals in Korea, and one thing I've learned is that the photographer you choose can have a huge impact on both the experience and the final photos.
Seoul is home to some incredibly talented photographers, each with their own style and approach. Some specialize in luxury portraiture. Others focus on documentary storytelling. Some operate as international marketplaces, while others are local photographers who know the city inside and out.
To help you decide, I've put together a list of some of the best options for proposal photography in Seoul.
Best for: Storytelling-focused proposals, local expertise, and cinematic photography
Since this is our website, it's only fair to acknowledge that I'm obviously biased.
That said, proposal photography has become one of our specialties at Modu Studios, and it's one of the most rewarding types of sessions we photograph.
Unlike larger marketplaces, every proposal is planned directly with us. We help couples choose locations, coordinate timing, avoid crowds, and create a plan that feels natural rather than staged.
Our photography style focuses on:
One thing our clients consistently appreciate is the amount of planning we do before the proposal itself. We don't simply show up with cameras. We help plan the entire experience.
Some of our favorite proposal locations in Seoul include:
One of Seoul's most underrated proposal spots. The elevated city views, stone walls, and quiet atmosphere make it perfect for intimate proposals.

During autumn, Haneul Park becomes one of the most beautiful proposal locations in Korea. The silver grass fields and sunset light create an incredible backdrop.

For couples who want iconic Seoul skyline views, the Han River near Banpo Bridge offers some of the most romantic evening scenery in the city.

Although it's located outside Seoul, Nami Island remains one of our favorite destinations for proposals and engagement sessions.
One recent proposal we photographed there featured beautiful autumn colors, quiet tree-lined pathways, and one unforgettable surprise proposal:

Best for: Travelers looking for a globally recognized photography platform
Flytographer is one of the largest vacation photography marketplaces in the world.
Website:
https://www.flytographer.com
Their Seoul photographers generally provide a polished experience and are a good option for travelers who already use the platform in multiple destinations.
The primary advantage is consistency and ease of booking.
The downside is that your experience may vary depending on which photographer is assigned to your session, and planning tends to be less personalized than working directly with a local studio.

Best for: Visitors comparing multiple photographers
Local Lens is another popular travel photography marketplace that operates in destinations around the world.
Website:
https://localgrapher.com
Like Flytographer, they offer convenience and flexibility, especially for travelers visiting multiple cities.
However, because they operate as a large network rather than a dedicated Seoul-based photography studio, the experience can be less tailored to specific locations and proposal logistics.

Best for: Traditional Korean engagement photography
Junghyun Photography has built a strong reputation among visitors looking for polished Korean-style engagement and proposal photography.
Their work often incorporates traditional architecture, classic Seoul locations, and a refined portrait style.
Couples seeking a more formal aesthetic may appreciate their approach.
Best for: Straightforward vacation and proposal photography
Seoul Photo Studio offers proposal, engagement, and travel photography throughout Seoul.
Their work focuses on many of the city's most recognizable landmarks and tourist destinations, making them a solid option for visitors who want iconic Seoul backdrops in their photos.

The best photographer isn't necessarily the one with the biggest following or the most expensive package.
The right photographer is the one whose style, experience, and personality align with the experience you want to create.
Ask yourself:
The answers to those questions usually make the decision much easier.

Proposal photography is different from a typical portrait session.
Timing matters.
Crowds matter.
Lighting matters.
And perhaps most importantly, knowing exactly where to stand when the moment happens matters.
That's one reason why many couples choose to work with photographers who specialize specifically in Seoul proposals.
At Modu Studios, we've photographed proposals throughout Seoul and beyond, helping couples create memorable experiences while keeping the process simple and stress-free.
