As photographers who’ve lived in Seoul for over 7 years, Jeff and I at Modu Studios have photographed couples at nearly every corner of the city. From palaces and hanok villages to riverside parks and neon-lit streets, Seoul offers tons of opportunities to capture love stories in unforgettable (and very aesthetic) ways.
But the real question is in a city as big and dense as Seoul, which spots actually deliver the best photos? After years of shooting engagements, anniversaries, and travel sessions, we’ve ranked our Top 10 Couple Photoshoot Locations in Seoul—and included tips from behind our lenses.

A peaceful river walk through the middle of downtown, Cheonggyecheon feels like a little oasis in the city. Fun fact - it used to be a highway overpass until 2005! Its stone bridges and reflections at night make it a romantic but easygoing choice. 📍Google Maps Link
Meaning “Sky Park,” this spot sits on a hill overlooking Seoul. It’s famous for its tall silver grass fields in autumn, but year-round it offers sweeping city views and golden light at sunset—ideal for dreamy couple portraits. 📍Google Maps Link
If you’re after neon lights with a distinctly local Korean vibe, Guro Digital Complex is perfect and one of our favourites on this list. Packed with glowing signs, bustling streets, and an authentic atmosphere, it gives couple photos a vibrant, cinematic edge that feels far less touristy than central Seoul. 📍Google Maps Link
Trendy and cozy, Ikseon-dong mixes traditional hanok alleys with cute cafes and boutiques. Perfect for couples who love a blend of tradition and modern street vibes. It's also home to one of our favourite famous establishments in Seoul - Jayeon-do Salt Bread (makes for some cute pics and is delicious too!).📍Google Maps Link
Floating in the middle of the Han River, Nodeul Island feels unique and romantic. Its green spaces, bridges, and cultural center make it a surprisingly versatile spot for both nature-inspired and urban-inspired photos.📍Google Maps Link
A Seoul icon and a symbol of love, Namsan Tower is home to the famous Locks of Love fence and sweeping views of the city skyline. Best at sunset or night when the tower lights up.📍Google Maps Link
Bukchon is a maze of beautiful traditional hanok houses with mountain views peeking through the alleys. It’s one of the most charming and timeless backdrops for hanbok or modern-style shoots.📍Google Maps Link
Known for its Secret Garden, Changdeokgung is one of the most romantic palaces in Seoul. It’s quieter than Gyeongbokgung but equally stunning, with traditional pavilions and serene gardens that create a timeless feel for couples.📍Google Maps Link
Often called “Hipjiro” by locals, this neighborhood is Seoul’s true neon-lit hidden gem. Just a short walk from Myeongdong, it has the same glowing city lights at night—but without the tourist crowds. Think old print shops, retro alleyways, and moody neon signs that make your couple photos feel cinematic. Honestly, we love Euljiro way more than Myeongdong—it’s still raw, authentic, and effortlessly cool.📍Google Maps Link
Our #1 spot, and for good reason. Gyeongbokgung is the grandest of Seoul’s palaces, with majestic gates, sprawling courtyards, and a mountain backdrop that makes photos truly spectacular. Renting hanbok nearby adds an extra level of magic—like stepping into another time. We recommend renting Hanboks in the morning and heading to the palace for a shoot around 10:00am to avoid the huge crowds around noon!📍Google Maps Link
At Modu Studios, we’ve spent years perfecting couple photoshoots across Seoul’s most iconic locations. Because we know each spot inside and out, we can guide you to the best lighting, hidden corners, and crowd-free moments that make your session unforgettable. We also instruct you on how to pose so you won't need to feel nervous about how to position yourselves.
From dreamy palace hanbok shoots to edgy night sessions in Euljiro, we tailor every shoot to fit your vibe.

📍 Pro Tip: Go early morning for palaces (soft light, no crowds), golden hour for Haneul Park or Nodeul Island, and evening for street-style shoots in Euljiro.
