Planning your engagement photoshoot in Seoul is one of the most exciting parts of celebrating your love story. With its stunning mix of traditional palaces, urban skylines, and hidden natural escapes, Seoul is one of the most romantic cities in the world for couples to capture this milestone moment.
As professional Seoul photographers, we at Modu Studios have been lucky enough to photograph countless couples here over the past 7 years. Today, we’re sharing our favorite romantic spots that are perfect for an engagement photoshoot—and tips to make your session unforgettable.
No list would be complete without the grandeur of Gyeongbokgung Palace. With its majestic gates, wide courtyards, and traditional hanok architecture framed by mountain backdrops, it feels straight out of a fairytale. Many couples also choose to rent hanbok for a timeless, regal look that makes photos even more special.
📸 Best Time: Early morning to avoid crowds and get soft golden light.

For something more intimate, the Secret Garden inside Changdeokgung is one of the most romantic places in Seoul. Hidden ponds, shaded pavilions, and forested pathways create a serene, dreamlike atmosphere. It’s a quieter palace experience that lets you and your partner focus on each other without the hustle of the city.
📸 Best Time: Mid-morning or late afternoon for the prettiest light filtering through the trees.

As a symbol of love in Seoul, Namsan is a favorite for engagement photoshoots. The winding trails up the mountain offer natural greenery and soft views, while N Seoul Tower at the top adds a cinematic city backdrop. Many couples love the Locks of Love fence as a sweet detail for engagement portraits.
📸 Best Time: Sunset into evening, when the skyline begins to sparkle.

For a cozy, romantic vibe, Bukchon Hanok Village is ideal. The narrow alleyways lined with traditional hanok homes create a timeless setting. From elegant hanbok shoots to modern engagement outfits, Bukchon adds an element of history and intimacy that photographs beautifully.
📸 Best Time: Early morning, when the alleys are quiet and bathed in soft light.

If you dream of something more relaxed and natural, the Hangang River delivers. The parks along the river, like Yeouido or Jamsil, or Islands like Nodeul-seom, offer open skies, long grasses, and city views across the water. Perfect for candid walking shots, picnics, or sunset cuddles.
📸 Best Time: Golden hour—nothing beats the warm glow over the Han River.
